Illustration
Illustrations are important brand elements because they combine the content of brand communication with brand colours and style elements in a reduced and focused way. The resulting images have a high recognition value and create a unique brand experience. The line is our fundamental design element. Filled areas set highlights and maintain the balance with the contours of the elements.

Focus on the essentials
Illustrations are used within REHAU communication to reduce functions and abstract facts and to illustrate them in an emotional way. The use of primary colours in the illustration contributes to brand identification.
Principles
REHAU illustrations follow the principles of simplicity. The implementation is mainly done by lines. Orientation for the line thickness: 1 pt for an image area DIN A4. Colour areas are used in a restrained and, above all, focussing manner. Shadows in shades of grey facilitate orientation in the room. Product colours are reproduced via a range of secondary design colours. Gradients and tints are not used.
Special case 3D illustration
The 3D illustration is a special case, because it is an illustration according to its origin, but in its appearance similar to a photo. The 3D illustration at REHAU refers to the photorealistic representation of a product. Hence, the general conditions of the Style 1 “product shot” image style apply. Frontal perspective, sharpness over the entire image, white or light grey background (20% black), natural shadow. Telephoto lens. Illumination by area lights. No reflection on the floor.
